Lollipop Forest
My inspiration for this piece was a memory that I shared with my grandmother. It was when me and her used to make homemade lollipops so I took that memory and turned it into a fictional world for anyone who wants to explore it.
The process that I used while creating it was sketching out the idea and then using pen and ink to trace over it.
Grapefruit
My inspiration for this piece was creating a fruit that I would be able to show texture in but also one that I enjoyed.
The process that I took when creating this piece was sketching out the images and then using oil pastels to create 3 different textures with many different colors. I made it look like the grapefruit was placed on a wooden table and I created texture within it.
Women
My inspiration for this portrait was showing the natural beauty of women and I also chose this photo because it was the first portrait that I had done and I thought that I could do it well.
The process that I took while creating this portrait was first finding a reference photo and then dividing the photo into a grid. Then I went to my portrait paper and I divided that into the same amount of grids as the reference photo. I then began to lightly sketch the women onto the paper and as I went along I would match up the grid spaces and would erase the grid lines. Then at the end of the project I shaded the portrait.
Tiki Sculpture
My inspiration for creating the god Kanaloa was because I thought that I would be able to add some creative details such as a butt, dreads and a palm tree and moon scene on the back.
The process that I took when creating this piece was I started out with a slab of clay then I rolled it into a cylinder shape. Then I begin to add details using the slip and score technique.
Cherry Blossom Tree
My inspiration for creating this piece was because cherry blossom trees are my favorite type of trees and it was the first time that I had ever done watercolor so I thought that it would be easy for me to do but it would also challenge me.
The process that I took while doing this piece was starting out by taping down my paper then doing the grey wash in the background and doing trees a darker grey when the background was dry. Then when that all was dry I added a pink cherry blossom tree with reddish pink leaves.
Rough and Delicate
My inspiration for this piece was doing something that represented my parents that worked well together and balanced each other out. The tattoo machine represented my father because he has a lot of tattoos and it gives him a rough image. The roses represented my mother because she likes flowers and her personality is delicate like a flower. Both of the images complement each other like my parents.
The process that I took was sketching out the images and adding details within them then shading them.
Floral Deer
My inspiration for this piece was showing nature within nature so I decided to do a wild deer with flowers and other natural images.
The process that I took while creating this piece was lightly sketching out the image of the deer. Then painting the light blue background avoiding the inside of the deer. Then I painted the inside of the deer a mixture of blue, pink, and purple. Once I was done I let it dry and then I added the flowers and other images inside of the deer. Then I finished it off with antlers.
New Beginnings
My inspiration for this piece was showing someone that changes there life and showing the new person that they become no matter what they went through.
The process that I took while creating this piece was was lightly sketching out the image on a canvas and using blue, purple, pink, and white paint and moving it toward the butterfly women.
Decided Death
My inspiration for this piece was communicating to the viewer that the thing that they do everyday and don't think twice about could potentially kill them in the future.
The process that I took while creating this piece was sketching out the image and putting darker lines in between the bones to make them look realistic then I shaded the rest of the bones leaving a light source.
